Comparing star notes to reg notes, it's rare. You find 2 start bills out of how many regular bill? I search around choose to 1000 to 3000 $1 bills per week and I find around 10 (bad week) to 20 (good week) star notes. So no they ain't thar rare.

Or just throw back the common ones and keep and less common ones? Ah yes,but an older star note is worth quite a bit more than the same series note without the star.On the average 5 times more valuable. Actually, star notes all carry a little bit of a premium (5 times face sound a little high though).

However just because a star note is old, doesn't mean it is more valuable than a new star note. A circulated contemporary star note is always going to be face value unless it is a palindrome/rader (SN like 54111145) or some other "fancy serial number". But even then with the slightest amount of circulation they are very close to face value.

I don't know anything about grading and I don't know if this is even worth grading (I don't even know what it means to grade a game card or currency) I've just heard about it. Star note. It's not worth more than $100 without errors or special serial numbers. Star notes Bought 20 consecutive star notes from a fresh pack when I used to be a bookkeeper. Any thoughts on value? Is it worth more as a set? More of a coin guy honestly but seemed neat at the time.
