Gnome Accent Color Extension
Automatically set the GNOME accent colour based on the user's background. Note: GNOME Settings sometimes has an issue of it 'resetting' the accent colour when the Appearance page is open and the accent colour is changed externally. If this happens, navigate away from the Appearance page (or close the Settings window), and re-run the Auto Accent Colour script by clicking the 'Force Refresh.
For a pinch more personalisation of Ubuntu 24.10 check out Auto Accent Colour, a new GNOME Shell extension that changes the system accent colour based on your current desktop wallpaper. Accent colours are a headline feature in GNOME 47, although not new to Ubuntu users since Ubuntu added its own approach to accent colours back in 2022. This is a little project that I've been working on to improve my programming skills.

It's a user-friendly option that simplifies how users personalize their environments, differing from more complex themes that affect GTK4/libadwaita apps. Since this was something some people have been requesting for a long time, I wanted to share with you the good news: there is a new extension that allows to change the accent colour of Gnome. It colours consistently both the shell (Extension User Themes needed to change the theme in Tweaks) and all the other apps.

The selected Accent Color can be applied to GTK4/GTK3 apps and the Gnome Shell. An extension called "Accent Icons", aka Accent Directories, can do the job in GNOME and so far supports version 47. The extension automatically install Adwaita icons in different colors into user's.local/share/icons directory.
