Compete with 4 different characters-PLUS special "hidden" track smokers. Sonic R is one of those games that needed a sequel most, imo.
Conceptually it is an interesting spin on a racing game; being on foot and more exploration heavy, but as you said, the content is seriously lacking. Intriguing character roster but you can beat every course in like 30 minutes. Mario Kart 64 around that same time managed triple that.

I get this game is kind of sketchy, but there's a lot of good stuff about it: Graphics: The tracks and backgrounds look really good for a saturn game. Sonic R is a racing game, the game has Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy playable at first, but as you continue on through the game (if you're willing to), you unlock more.
