We saw this battle fought in the 80's when Ted Turner announced plans to colorize American classics like It's A Wonderful Life, Casablanca, King Kong, and Citizen Kane. Just wanted to share a simple colorized Godzilla 1954 image. I like the idea that the original Godzilla suit was supposedly brown colored.

It's definitely possible, they colorized a lot of Ray Harryhausen's older films. In the case of Godzilla '54, however, it's a film that was shot and lit with black and white film stock in mind. You can't light a black & white film the same way as a color film.
