I can't recommend that you dye a polyester or acrylic canvas boat cover. The only dyes that work on these fibers require that you boil the fabric in the dye, which is unlikely to be practical for canvas the size of your boat cover. How To Dye Faded Canvas? All that said, if it is a not too big bimini top and you can remove the material, I would try dying it with fabric dye and after the dye process, wash, rinse, dry and treat with water repellent.

I have changed the colour livery of the boat from an 80's deep red to a more modern Britannia blue (dark blue). I have had the canvas recut professionally and I am really please with it. I would like to avoid throwing the old canvas out so was thinking about dyeing the various bits into the same.
