Mater meets McQueen. In Cars, when Lightning McQueen wakes up after accidentally ripping up the main road of Radiator Springs, he is greeted by Mater. McQueen almost succeeds in tricking Mater into releasing him to get to California schmoozing Dinoco as fast as possible, but Sheriff arrives before Mater is able to take McQueen to the courthouse.
Anyone else think that Mater has not always had so much blue still showing from his original paint job before he rusted? In "Cars on the Road", they seem to showcase how much blue paint is left. It shows on the bed of the truck, but I feel like it used to be only brown? Just a sidebar note, all the other release versions of Mater during the 2009-2010 era featured the correct back rims of blue & green. Only "Mater" was not fixed until 2014.
During the CARS 2 era, Mater was called Race Team Mater (2011-2013). He has the flat windshield, plastic engine, plastic bed and correct rim colors. In the "Our Town" scene in the first Cars film, there's a teal tow truck with buck teeth at Flo's.
