LOVE ONE ANOTHER The Struggle If anyone can relate to my experience, I hope this will help them. My parents raised me very well, with morals and values, one of which was a relationship with Christ. Sometimes your neighbor is not someone who is based on routine proximity to you, but rather, an instant where God brings two of his creations together to become neighbors that love and care for one another.
Whatever "neighbor" looks like to you, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another" (John 13:34).
The command to love others in this verse surely wasn't a new command. The newness of this command is found in the condition to not only love, but that they were to love others as Jesus loved. Jesus' love was servant-hearted and sacrificial even unto death.
