The real life version of the Winged Dragon of Ra only has the abilities listed on its card, specifically it has tremendously scaled-back versions of its anime "Point-To-Point Transfer" and "Egyptian God Phoenix" abilities. The anime Egyptian Gods were always tricky to nail down because of the anime's inconsistency on applying manga elements (like Ra having auto-immunity to Slifer and Obelisk in the manga just wasn't ported to the anime for whatever reason). If you want to have a Winged Dragon of Ra that has ATK and can use its second effect, you're kind of stuck with either: a LP gain deck, or a deck more dedicated to summoning Ra using Ancient Chant. No idea, they should have kept the "gains attack equal to all tribute monsters' attack" effect on the actual card at least. Although they later printed many spells/traps that give Ra its anime effects.
