ETA: So I just watched the movie again tonight, and made a couple of revisions. Also, Gaston does have a gun and uses it a couple of times. The Beauty and the Beast movie PG rating is spot on and then some for the violence suspense as retold from the animated version.
I would highly recommend that parents of kids who are easily scared/have nightmares to pre.
