Minecraft Print Screen Shows Menu

Assuming that you are pressing print screen when the game isn't paused, I believe it might be a general Windows issue as I have the same problem with Minecraft Dungeons. PC/JAVA Press F2 to take a screenshot. However, it's only screenshots. I can use OBS to screen record my Minecraft but it's not the same for instance that is is a video and im trying to capture a still image.

I have tried regular screenshoting, screenshoting with the minecraft keys, and even trying to change my pack or take it off, or changing from 1.8 and the latest version. I can't take screenshots at all. Win + PrtScn captures the pause menu.

PrtScn pauses the game and opens the Snipping Tool. The only one that technically works is the in-game screenshot function (F2), but it doesn't show my beautiful shaders. The Steam and Xbox Game Bar screenshot functions don't seem to do anything.

i like to post quick shots to m,y discord but this makes its very annoying to do. is there a way around this? I've tried both screenshot methods separately: Print Screen & F2. But every time it captures, when I go to check the image, the pause menu has appeared over the image.

I never paused the game, yet the game acted as if I paused when it captured the shot. Help? Edit: I've discovered that the screenshots taken with F2 and stored in the screenshot folder in.minecraft are free of this issue. windows snipping tool pauses minecraft only sometimes? I'm trying to use windows snipping tool, shft-win-s, to take screenshots, which has worked before, but now it's pausing minecraft every time I try to use it, so the only thing I can capture is the pause menu.

At one point it worked again, but has since gone back to pausing the game. I cant use my clipping system (GeForce) in game or it kicks me out of the Minecraft tab and I have to alt tab back into it. Making it so I cant save a clip.

I also cant use ctrl alt print screen (screenshot) or shift windows key s (snip it tool) in game or it does something different.
