The selected Accent Color can be applied to GTK4/GTK3 apps and the Gnome Shell. Accent colours are a headline feature in GNOME 47, although not new to Ubuntu users since Ubuntu added its own approach to accent colours back in 2022.

This is a little project that I've been working on to improve my programming skills. The project involves changing the accent color of your desktop in Gnome Shell. How it works To change the accent color, we take the Gnome Shell theme from this repository, modify the scss file to change the accent color, and then install the modified theme.

Note: GNOME Settings sometimes has an issue of it 'resetting' the accent colour when the Appearance page is open and the accent colour is changed externally. If this happens, navigate away from the Appearance page (or close the Settings window), and re-run the Auto Accent Colour script by clicking the 'Force Refresh.
