Dolphin Change Color Linux

8 I installed dolphin (18.12.2-1) as file manager (for most the things I use "ls" but sometimes a preview is helpful) in i3wm on an Archlinux and would like to be able to change the background color or the font color of it. I was wondering where dolphin gets its background color from and if it was possible to change it. Dolphin may be reading configuration information defining appearance from the ~/.config/kdeglobals file.

Kill Dolphin, edit the kdeglobals file and try changing the BackgroundNormal value, and then reopen Dolphin to see if this is the case. I managed to change the theme of dolphin by reading Arch wiki on qt and gtk, but I am struggling to change dolphins background its always white no matter which theme I choose, how can this be achieved? If you want to change the color of your folder icons without installing a new icon set, Dolphin Folder Color is a great solution. you can't change Dolphin's background from within Dolphin but it can be changed from within the system configuration > Look & Feel > Colour options in KDE.

not sure how to do it in Gnome as have never used it. This will also have an effect on other applications though. I'm using a dark theme in Debian, but the Dolphin file manager just ignores it.
