As a general rule, angling for striped bass in the inland waters of Nova Scotia begins April 1 and is permitted as long as a fishing season is open in those waters for trout, salmon, landlocked salmon or smallmouth bass. Striped bass fishing in Nova Scotia is regulated by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The striped bass fishing season runs from April 15th to October 31st.
