SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. The series revolves around the titular SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends as they live in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Since its debut in 1999, it has gone on to become the longest-running and highest-rated show on Nickelodeon, spawning over 300.
