Two Things at Once - Optical Illusions In this activity you are going to view optical illusions to reinforce the idea of how something can be two things at the same time (Jesus is both human and divine at the same time).
Look at each optical illusion together and tell each other what you see. Do you see the same image? A collection of images that reveal the face of Jesus when viewed from different angles or distances. Some are optical illusions, some are photos, and some have stories behind them.
Object Lesson: Jesus is revealed - This object lesson reveals the name 'Jesus' in an optical illusion, when just the shapes are shown on a blank piece of paper it is very hard to see anything, but when coloured in or coloured card shapes are added then the name 'Jesus' becomes visible in the gaps between the shapes. This object lesson can be used with any story that highlights who Jesus is as. This is supposed to be an optical illusion, but I'll be honest and say I can't not see the "JESUS" when I look at it anymore.
However, for anyone who's lost, you have to look past the popsicle sticks to see the word "JESUS" in this craft. Stare at the center of the image for at least 30 seconds and see the after image of Jesus Christ. Learn how the illusion works and try other versions of the Jesus illusion and the Santa illusion.
