How Long Does Ssj4 Gogeta Last
Gogeta appeared in GT and defused due to SSJ4 the same as Vegito did. GT may be non-canon, but it appeared first, and Gogeta originated from there and the Fusion Reborn movie. The time Goku and Vegeta can spend as Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is exceedingly short! While Fusions usually last for 30 minutes, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta's Fusion came undone in only 10.
It would seem that due to the gargantuan amount of power used in the Fusion of a Super Saiyan 4 pair, it can't be maintained for very long. After seeing Vegito, who was supposed to have an hour of Fusion, defuse in mere minutes (even less time than Gogeta's GT appearance, for sure), it's been predicted that Gogeta would probably barely last a minute, if that, at Super Saiyan Blue. That's what I want to talk about, I want to give my view on it, on why Gogeta wouldn't wear out that fast.

Gogeta first debuted in Fusion Reborn as the final protagonist when Goku and Vegeta fused in Hell to defeat Super Janemba. He returned in Dragon Ball GT as a Super Saiyan 4 to battle Omega Shenron, but defused quicker than expected due to over. How much time does SSJ4 Gogeta have on screen in GT? All I remember is that he appears for half an episode in the last Saga.

At BEST, Gogeta and Vegito's time limits should be comparable, given both SSJ3 Gotenks and SSJ4 Gogeta explicitly knock down their time limit down, and Gogeta only SEEMED to last longer in Super because he staggered out his forms instead of going all out like Vegito did. I've been seeing a huge misconception going around that Gogeta would last longer than Vegito would, so I wanted to check. If we go by pure screentime, Gogeta in Broly lasted for around 10 minutes, Vegito in the Future Trunks arc lasted for around 8 minutes 30 seconds.

Although this may seem conclusive, there's alot of other information to consider. Vegito spent 8 of those minutes in Blue form. On Dragon Ball - General, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "How long do you think SSJB Gogeta's fusion lasts?".
This marks the last time the Fusion Dance was used between Goku and Vegeta in the series. During Dragon Ball GT, Goku and Vegeta fused into Gogeta at Super Saiyan 4 to combat Omega Shen Long. Having achieved his ultimate potential, Gogeta easily overpowered Omega Shenron and even used his supreme power to gloat and toy with the Shadow Dragon.

However, Gogeta spent too much time toying around. In Dragon Ball GT, Gogeta defused for using too much power, but since this series isnt canon, I dont think it counts. Also, how was all this for Gotenks, I dont remember if Gotenks ever defused for using too much power.
