An update on the 24 Bald Eagle chicks color banded by Pete Bloom in southern California from 2017-2022. Between January of 2018 and July of 2023, we have received thirty-three encounter reports for sixteen different individual Bald Eagle color bands, with several individuals being sighted on more than one occasion and/or over multiple years. The aluminum band is closed with a pliers and the multi-color band with a pop-rivet gun: a technique developed by Charles (Chuck) Sindelar, who was instrumental in bald eagle recovery in Wisconsin.
