Strega Nona ("Grandmother Witch" in Italian) is a kindly old grandmother with a magic pasta pot. When she hires Big Anthony to help her tend her home, he disobeys her instructions not to touch the pasta pot and hilarity ensues. Big Anthony ignores her and Strega Nona must save the day before the town is overrun in pasta.

However, his Strega Nona books made the list of the most frequently challenged or banned picture books between 1990-2000 because of their "supernatural content" so you are not being any more scrupulous than alot of other people have been about the content of these books. If stories such as Strega Nona are challenged or banned, then shouldn't the rest of them be as well? There is a contradiction in what has been considered inappropriate for children and I feel like there was no solid justification as to why Strega Nona was banned.
