I just went down to the local corner market for some laundry detergent and they had two brands: Tide and Cheer. They were both the powder kind, in boxes that contained 15 loads, were exactly the same size, and exactly the same cost ($5). Upon closer inspection, I saw they both had some kind or proprietary "color guard" and are both made by Procter & Gamble.
What's up with this? Is this like. The best thing is to just buy a bottle t Clorox 2 or generic color safe bleach. I add it to my laundry it keeps the stains out and it keeps the dark clothes from getting dingy.

My favorite detergent for dark clothes is Cheer ColorGuard HE detergent - I use it for our good office/church clothes, and they come out looking beautiful.
